A catastrophic fire swept through the Soweto Kibra area in Nairobi, Kenya, on 6th JUNE, leaving over 300 homes in ruins. The blaze, which started in a single house, quickly spread, engulfing the densely populated settlement and causing widespread destruction.
Reports indicate that several residents sustained injuries in the fire, with many others losing all their belongings. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, but preliminary reports suggest it may have been triggered by an electrical fault. Efforts to contain the blaze were hampered by delays in the response from firefighters.
